DY Patil Climate Action Lab at the Centre of Excellence hosted Panerai and facilitated the Panerai Ocean Conservation Initiative in partnership with IOC –UNESCO
The initiative primarily focuses on achieving a collective consensus on “ The Ocean Literacy ” for the transition towards more sustainable use of the ocean.
Mr. Mohit Sachdev, country manager – Panerai, addressed the attendees and pressed on the direct impact of ocean conservation on our socio-economic lives, and encouraged us to cohesively contribute towards this major cause.
The occasion was graced by the presence of our Managing Trustee Mrs. Shivani V Patil, Ms. Rajlakshmi V Patil, Founder – DCAL, Dr. Ravi Kumar Jain Dean – Vijay Patil School of Management, Dr. Suma Nair, Dean- School of Public Health & Dr. MD Patil, Principal – RAIT.
The discussion was insightful and compelled us to reflect back on how we look at the environment, oceans in particular and the stringent measures that should be taken in its conservation.
We are looking forward to hosting many more such events to fuel our mission of creating awareness about the importance of climate change in order to collectively take actionable steps.
