The Inauguration of the Green Pharmacy Project in collaboration with the R-Nisarg Foundation

The inauguration of the Green Pharmacy Project was held at the School of Pharmacy in collaboration with the R-Nisarg Foundation on 10th August.

Rnisarg Foundation is a Mumbai-based NGO co-founded in 2016 by our School of Medicine Alumna Dr. Lata Ghanshyamnani with the primary objective of spreading awareness and bringing into practice waste disposal management, bio waste management in particular.

The inauguration event began with the lamp lighting ceremony and seeking blessings from Sant Gajanan Maharaj followed by the welcoming of the guests.

Ms. Rajlakshmi V. Patil, Founder of D-CAL delivered the welcome address and spoke about climate change and the initiatives implemented by the D-CAL team to curtail the aftermath of climate change.

Post the welcome address, an MOU was signed between D-CAL & Rnisarg foundations to facilitate the installation of green bins, first at the school of pharmacy and then all across the campus.

Dr. Lata Ghanshyamnani, co-founder of Rnisarg foundation delivered a presentation that by and large disseminated information on the green pharmacy project encompassing crucial touchpoints like data collection of segregated waste and arriving at numerous methodologies for containing them.

We are looking forward to the successful execution of this project and we are hopeful of scaling this project across campus soon.
